The relationship between beauty and wellness has been steadily strengthening, but it is now becoming one of the industry's most influential commercial drivers.

According to Imogen Matthews, Consultant at Innova Market Insights, consumers are increasingly seeking products that support long-term wellbeing alongside healthy-looking skin.

"Generation X has become a prime target for beauty-wellness brands, with premium skincare increasingly focusing on hydration, vitality and rejuvenation for consumers who prioritise long-term skin health and overall wellness."

She points to brands such as Kleos+Klea, which combines botanical ingredients including organic acerola cherries, baobab and banana in small-batch formulations, while All Golden has introduced water-free products featuring bio-fermented upcycled cactus fruit designed to hydrate and support the skin microbiome.

These examples illustrate how beauty innovation is increasingly borrowing from wellness by emphasising holistic health, natural ingredients, sustainability and long-term skin resilience rather than simply delivering cosmetic improvements.
