Growing up in a small town in Thessaloniki, Greece, Dimitris knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career as a hairstylist. He loved to style his mother and sister’s hair and replicate looks he would see editorially. At 15, he took the next step in his artistry journey and attended beauty school in Greece.
For the next twelve years, Dimitris traveled the world, mastering his craft. He has worked backstage at fashion shows in New York, Milan and Paris and his work has been featured on the covers of top publications such as Vogue, ELLE, InStyle and more.
In 2013, Dimitris moved to Los Angeles and began creating iconic looks for his quickly growing roster of celebrity clients. Toshimitsu Kuroki operates three designer salons in Omotesando, Tokyo, and Kitahorie, Osaka.
He was nominated for the JHA Newcomer Award in 2021 and the JHA Grand Prize category in 2022. He won the Japan Grand Prix for two consecutive years in a manufacturer-sponsored competition and competed in the world competition in Stockholm, along with numerous other awards.
Alongside salon work, he regularly publishes his work in beauty industry magazines. He is also active as an educator across Asia, the U.S., Africa, and Japan, appearing in hair shows and giving over 200 seminars a year.
